But, why?

Amy's inquiring mind ponders:

Why is my AOL journal called a journal, but some others are called blogs?

WHY?!

I like the term 'blog' better.  Pfft.

  1. I think it was Mosie who told me AOL chose "journal" because "blog" would be confusing to older members.  Ehhh....fuck 'em.

  4. A blog (a portmanteau of web log) is a website where entries are written in chronological order and commonly displayed in reverse chronological order. "Blog" can also be used as a verb, meaning to maintain or add content to a blog.

    A journal (through French from late Latin diurnalis, daily) has several related meanings:

    a daily record of events or business; a private journal is usually referred to as a diary.
    a newspaper or other periodical, in the literal sense of one published each day;
    many publications issued at stated intervals, such as magazines, or scholarly academic journals, or the record of the transactions of a society, are often called journals.

    there is your definitions but you may call yours what ever you want to !!!!!! YOU BE THE ONE GIRL its your space

    By the way, lovely new photo!  And I'm gonna stick in a quick comment from your last post.  I'd be exhausted after your weekend, too!  Here's hoping you have a quiet week, or a fun one, or whatever you want to call it!
