...but we forgot the marshmallows...

Jesse.....darling that he is......made dinner tonight.

He served me a plate of lasagna....(oh, don't get excited....it was frozen Stouffers lasagna).....and we sat down to eat.

He said "You know....since it's cool in the house, I'm going to set the oven on self-clean...."

"Sure...cool...." I said.

Adrian got up to get a piece of garlic bread.  Then he said.....

"Uhmmmm.....Dad?  Is the oven supposed to be on fire inside?"

::cough::

I never said I was a good housekeeper.  Maybe I should clean the oven more often though, huh?

  4. hahaha.  You didn't have some food still in there did you?  Yesterday at work I went to open up the AGA (this is an oil burning stove that stays on permanently.  It also serves to heat the kitchen, which at this time of year is a real pain!) and in the bottom oven was a tray full of cremated cherry vine  tomatoes.  Who knows how long they'd been there.  Probably two weeks, from the last time the daughter was up there with her friends for the weekend.  She probably put them in and then forgot all about them.  (shows you how often I use the thing!)  Anyways, they were welded to the baking sheet!  Needless to say the whole thing went in the bin!

  8. You and me both. I do it when Doc isn't around so he never knows how bad it truly got. (Hugs) Indigo

  11. ::sigh:: maybe someday I'll get to try that.(Self-clean the oven, not set it on fire!)  We have to do it the old fashioned way.....

  13. No self-clean here, but when I do it, it's BAD.  In fact, we made a pizza tonight, and I thought, "this oven is NASTY."  So I closed the door and drank a beer.  It seems to help.  That piece of advice was free.

  15. Count yourself lucky!  A man who'll cook for ya is good!  My dad will look in the oven and go,"Geez, that's dirty in there.  Somebody should clean it."  Actually, since we moved he has not touched the oven except to remove the food we've, meaning me,my mom and sis, have all ready prepared from it!  You know like turkeys!  Other then that I don't think my dad even knows how the sucker works!
