What to do....

My child......

.......is sick.

He has a cold.

This, of course, means he is dying and we are horrible parents for not taking him to the doctor so the doctor can hear his last words before the inevitable.

Unfortunately, Jesse's brother has chosen today to have a barbecue. Le sigh. Really? It is one of those 'damned if you do, damned if you don't' situations. They will be miffed if we don't show up. They will also be miffed if show up with a sick child. Aurgh.

  1. I would call them and tell them that you would love to come but you just couldn't bear to get them sick as your sweet son is HIGHLY CONTAGIOUS!

I feel sure that he will make it through. Colds only kill people in literature.;-)

  3. I'd say your child comes first.

  4. They'll get over it. Or, you could send Jesse and the other two non-sick kids and you and the sickie get some peace and quiet for a bit.

Somewhat related: My mother has a cold and she is being the biggest freakin' baby about it.

"Oh, I feel SO HORRIBLE. This is the WORST COLD I'VE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE!"

Shutthehellup, I have the cold, too. If you can't hush, go to sleep and/or don't get pissed when I ignore you.

Not feeling sympathetic at the mo...

  7. So sorry to hear your baby is sick. HOpe he feels better soon! My boss has a cold right now, and although she is a woman, it's a man cold . . . .

  8. You certainly are in a no win situation Amy!
Damned if you do and damned if you don't.
If your boy is ill then he can't go. Send everyone else and you look after him in peace and quiet.
    Hopefully! Lol!
