It's bigger in Texas.....

A couple entries back, when I posted a picture with Bella, alot of you noticed the soda in the background.

I tend to take for granted the fact that we have 3 liter bottles here. Not that many states do.

The above picture is of a 1.5 liter soda bottle, the standard 2 liter, and then the Texas norm...the 3 liter.

Do they have 3 liter bottles where you live?!

  1. We used to, but I was just thinking the other day I can't remember when they discontinued them.

  2. Yes, there are some around, but not as many as there used to be. Also, it's only in the store brands.

  3. Being that they were in YOUR house I just figured they were 3 liter wine coolers. ~Mary

  4. Hi Amy,
I don't know ... can't remember seeing 3-litre bottles. I don't drink much soda so 3-litres would probably sit around forever, until it got so flat I had to toss it.

  5. We have them here but they are the generic ones, not the name brand. You can only usually find Orange/Grape/Gingerale type though. It would be nice if the name brand ones came in a 3 ltr since Coke is now $1.79 here for a 2 ltr. YIKES!

  6. we don't have 3 liter bottles; wow those are big!! and I live in So. Calif. you would think we'd have them here.....no now that I think about it, they probably would have found something toxic in a 3 liter bottle

  9. I had heard that everything is bigger in Texas. Now I know it's true! Living in the Land of Lilliput, it's amazing to see such large bottles of soda!

  13. Those soda drinks are enormous and I haven't seen 3L in Europe - only wine and lots of that! Thank you for stopping by French Essence today, xv.

  15. We used to have 3 liters here in Oklahoma, but I haven't seen one in years. Figures they'd have them in Texas, though. :-p

  16. If there were they would have to go fast. Paul leaves 1/2 cans of soda all the time, because they lost their fizz too fast. Yeah, I know. I ask him how old he is all the time. Tempermental wasteful kid. (Hugs)Indigo

  17. I guess size really is important. Dammit. [slinking away in shame]

Three liter soda bottles do look pretty imposing, though for oversized beverages I'd still probably opt for those wonderful 25 oz. cans of Foster's from Australia.

  18. I didn't notice that when we lived in Austin. But, I do miss HEB's macaroni and cheese. It was my favorite comfort food. No other macaroni and cheese in a box is as good.

Oh, and in CHicago we didn't call it soda. We call it 'pop'. When I said that in Texas people thought it was hilarious.
