Vacation? Yes, please.

I think I need a vacation in my own house.

I mean, every once in a while, Jesse takes the kids out and about, and I stay home because I never get time to myself......and when I say never, I mean never. I homeschool my kids. They're are with me all. the. time. I pee, somebody has to be right there seeing why I'm taking so long. ("I'm washing my hands! Just a freaking minute!") I sit down, and somebody has to retell a story I have heard 48 times already, yet I smile and nod my head like it is the first time and I am ever so impressed.

So. Yes. A nice little 8 hour vacation in the silence. Because the alcohol is not cutting it.

........and the whining and bitching continues.

  4. Rent a hotel room for 24 hours...a luxury one...and get away all by yourself. Order room service, get a massage, and pamper yourself. :)

    Sounds well-deserved.

    XOXO

  6. I love to spend time alone in my home from time to time as well. It can be quite enjoyable. Thankfully I enjoy my own company!

  9. Been there, Amy. Ooooh, lordy, have I been there.

    {{{{hugs}}}}

If the hotel/motel idea doesn't work, do you know someone who might be out of town and you could go "house sit" for a while? Or even just invade their lovely quiet house for the eight to ten hours they're at work (and do it every day for a few days until you feel well "off the ledge").

I thought bitching and whining were what blogs were for in the first place!

  10. You are singing my song! But my hubby is out of state looking for work. No chance of him taking them for a while!

  11. Being I work from home I know what you mean... only time I get alone is when the kids go to school. Yes, I thought about that home schooling and still do think about that at times... but then how would I get the mopping done with all the kids and lesson plans to do LOL ? Hugs,

  13. How about taking a real vacation? 24 hours in a hotel all on your own. Oh, I see Bridget came up with the same idea. Do it!!

    Enjoy your quiet time!

  15. I LOVE being alone in my house. Even better is being alone in my house with Mr. H (we each do our own things most of the time, but being able to say what I want when I want is a luxury). This past January, Mr. H took the kids to NY for three full days while I stayed at home and did my thing. It was the first time EVER and was grand (minus the getting-freaked-out-at-night part).

Ps. I met Mr. H in San Antonio---such a romantic city!

  16. Ugh...I'm always looking for a babysitter at the bottom of the bottle.
...hmmm, maybe I should try the phone ;)

if you find that childless vacation, send me a brochure!

  17. I consider time alone as my vacation too and I get that when the kids are in school. Can't imagine homeschooling them. I would go absolutely NUTS!! Sometimes they tend to feel like leeches that just won't get unstuck from me for even 10 mins once they are home. Keep telling myself that I will miss it one day, just enjoy every minute, but it aint' easy!

  18. Oh time alone in your own space is absolute bliss. I usually clean like a mad woman as fast as possible so I can get it over with and enjoy it clean lol.

Oh and for dinner it was a roast dinner with tatoes, carrots, sliced beef and cauliflower. Comfort food. Nom nom nom
